Halloween is tomorrow, and I would like to tell you a spooky story, enjoy.
I woke up to hear knocking on glass. At first, I thought it was the window until I heard it come from the mirror again. She walked through the mirror as if it were nothing. A sudden chill swept over the room; as my only friend stepped through the mirror. My only friend Bloody Mary. She looked the same as always; her hair was the color of ebony, braided back with only one loose strand tucked behind her ear. Mary wore a white night gown that ended just above her feet, and the sleeves passed her finger tips barely. And on her nightgown, there is a wet red spot that gets darker and bigger every time we meet. Mary looked up at me and her blue eyes stared back at me. Her eyes reminded me of hope, but they only reflected her pain and loss. She was slim, but when she was alive she probably looked like a small hour glass. She smiled, then spoke in her smooth creamy voice that sounded distant; “You Carrie are my descendant of this world, we are one and the same and I couldn’t be prouder of you. But danger lurks in every corner the longer you stay in this house. What wants happened to me, will happen to you. Escape the danger the knife is near.” And with that she was gone, back to the land of the dead. I looked into the mirror; we looked almost exactly the same, but her hair was black ebony and mine red fire. I crawled back into bed. What did she mean the knife is near? What will happen to me that happened to her? I pondered the possibilities; the knife could mean I’ll get hurt soon and who knows what happened to her that will soon happen to me. Anything could happen. My door creaked open and mother appeared. “Hello Carrie;” she was in a daze like always, but there was something else in her eyes. But what? She came over and embraced me, she put her lips to my ears and whispered; “Tonight is Halloween and you have failed me like your sister Mary.” A sharp pain pierced in between my shoulder blades, and a knife went through me heart. Mother held me in her arms as I took my last breath, she wept and laughed. “I told you sister, to escape the knife.” Mary said when I reached the land of the dead.
Mary and Carrie cant rest in peace, there mother was ill but it’s not her fault. They don’t have the heart to take revenge; they don’t have the heart to do anything anymore.
